1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and OdoTick ("OdoTick", "we", "us"), the independent developer of the OdoTick Android application (the "App"), published on Google Play as com.jaironlanda.odotick.

By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and how we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.

2. Your licence to use OdoTick

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, including keeping records for a vehicle you use for work.

You agree not to:

3. The figures are estimates, not advice

OdoTick is a personal record-keeping tool. Nothing it shows is financial, tax, accounting, legal or engineering advice, and nothing in it is an official record.

Every number in the App — cost per kilometre or mile, fuel efficiency in L/100km, km/L or MPG, kWh/100km, monthly and yearly totals, spend by category, and any trend or projection — is calculated from what you type in. If an odometer reading is out, a total is mistyped, a fill-up is missing, or a tank was not actually full when you marked it full, the results will be wrong, and the App has no way to know that. Nothing is imported from your vehicle, your bank, or a fuel retailer.

Efficiency is worked out full tank to full tank, which is the honest method and also a strict one: it needs two full fill-ups before it can tell you anything, and it deliberately shows nothing rather than a guess when it lacks the data. Figures over short windows swing widely.

Where a decision has money, tax, legal or safety consequences, consult a qualified professional rather than a tracker.

4. Reminders are not a deadline service

A reminder is a convenience, not a guarantee. You remain responsible for your roadtax, insurance, inspection, service and every other deadline, whether or not OdoTick tells you about it.

Reminders are scheduled by your phone's operating system from the dates you enter. We do not check them against any registry, insurer or authority, and we have no way of knowing whether a date you typed is the right one.

A reminder can fail to arrive for reasons entirely outside our control, including:

OdoTick uses inexact alarms by design, so a reminder arrives around the time you chose rather than at that exact minute. Do not rely on a reminder arriving, and do not set one as your only safeguard against a penalty, a lapse in cover, or a fine. Keep whatever you already use for a deadline that matters.

5. OdoTick Plus

The App's core tracking is free, for up to two vehicles, with no ads — free or paid. "OdoTick Plus" is an optional paid upgrade that currently unlocks unlimited vehicles, CSV export and backup, cost trends over time, and the year-in-review summary.

We may add to, change or remove Plus features over time as the App develops. We will not deliberately reduce the Plus feature set in a way that makes what you paid for substantially worthless; if a feature must be removed for technical or legal reasons, we will aim to replace it or explain why we cannot.

Plus is unlocked on your device by asking Google Play, through RevenueCat, whether the Google account on that device currently holds it. It is tied to your Google account, not to an OdoTick account; there is no such thing. If Google Play is unreachable, or you are offline for a long period, the App may be unable to confirm your entitlement and Plus features may be temporarily unavailable until it can check again.

Losing Plus never costs you data. If a subscription ends, lapses or is refunded, the App keeps every vehicle, entry and reminder you have logged, and keeps tracking. What goes away is the Plus features: with more than two vehicles you can still read and export what is there, but you will be asked to unlock Plus again before adding another.

6. The free trial

The monthly plan is offered with a free trial, currently 14 days. The exact length is set in Google Play and shown in the App next to the button that starts it; the length displayed at the moment you subscribe is the one that applies.

7. Billing, renewal and cancellation

All payments are processed by Google Play, not by us. We never see, receive or store your payment details. Purchasing is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's payment terms.

Plans

OdoTick Plus is offered as:

Prices

Prices are set in the Google Play Console and shown to you in your local currency, including any applicable taxes where Google displays them, before you confirm a purchase. The price shown in the App at the moment of purchase is the price that applies; any price quoted elsewhere on this website is indicative and may differ by region. We may change prices for future purchases and renewals. Google will notify you of a price change affecting an existing subscription, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the App: a single payment with nothing further to pay, for as long as the App exists and Google Play continues to recognise the purchase. It is not a promise that the App will be published forever — see Changes and availability.

Automatic renewal

Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and your Google Play payment method is charged, until you cancel. Renewal is handled by Google Play. Cancelling is the only way to stop a renewal; uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.

How to cancel

You can cancel at any time, and it takes effect at the end of the current paid period:

After cancelling, Plus stays active until the period you have already paid for ends. It is not prorated, and no partial refund is given for the remainder of that period, except where required by law.

Switching from monthly to yearly

The App can move an active monthly subscription to the yearly plan. Google Play handles the change and credits the unused part of the month you have paid for against the new term, under its own proration rules. We do not control that calculation.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Google Play may place the subscription into a grace period or account hold while it retries. Plus stays unlocked during a grace period, because a declined card is not a cancellation. If the payment is never completed, the subscription ends and Plus locks — your logged data is untouched either way.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or set up a new device, use Restore purchase on the OdoTick Plus screen. This re-checks with Google Play what your Google account holds. A purchase belongs to the Google account that made it, so buying Plus on one account does not unlock it on another.

8. Refunds

Because Google Play is the seller of record, refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy, and requests go to Google, not to us. Google's own policies determine what qualifies, including any short window during which a purchase can be refunded automatically.

Nothing here limits any statutory right of withdrawal, cancellation or refund you may have under consumer law where you live — for example the EU and UK right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days, subject to its conditions. Those rights apply regardless of this section.

If something has gone wrong with a purchase — you paid and Plus did not unlock, or you were charged twice — please email us first. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but we will help you sort it out and, where appropriate, support your request to Google.

9. Your data is your responsibility

OdoTick stores everything locally on your device and has no server, no account and no cloud sync. That is a deliberate privacy decision, and it has one important consequence you should understand:

We hold no copy of your data, so we cannot recover it for you, ever. If you lose your phone, uninstall the App, clear its storage, or your device fails, years of fill-ups are gone with it.

Keeping a backup is therefore up to you. OdoTick Plus includes CSV export and a full backup file for exactly this reason. Restoring a backup replaces the data on your device, and that cannot be undone.

You are responsible for the security of any file you export and for anywhere you choose to store or send it.

10. Acceptable use

OdoTick has no accounts, no servers and no shared content, so there is not much to misuse. Still, you agree not to use the App unlawfully, not to attempt to defeat its Plus entitlement checks, and not to distribute modified versions of it.

11. Intellectual property

The App, including its source code, design, user interface, graphics, icons, text and the OdoTick name and logo, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms grant you a licence to use the App; they do not transfer any ownership to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

The data you enter is yours. We claim no ownership of, and no rights over, your vehicles, entries, reminders or history.

Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Android is a trademark of Google LLC. Any vehicle manufacturer or model name you type into the App belongs to its owner; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google or by any vehicle manufacturer.

12. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. We may also stop distributing or supporting the App entirely. The App is software you run on your own device: if we stopped tomorrow, the copy installed on your phone would keep working with your data intact, though it would no longer receive updates and store purchases would stop working.

We do not promise the App will be compatible with every device, Android version or future operating system release.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of defects; that its calculations, statistics, efficiency figures or projections are accurate or suitable for any purpose; or that reminders will be delivered at all — see Reminders are not a deadline service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, such warranties are limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OdoTick will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or for any fine, penalty, surcharge, lapse of insurance cover or missed deadline, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid us for OdoTick Plus in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 30.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here affects your mandatory statutory consumer rights.

15. Termination

You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms.

On termination, your licence ends and you must stop using the App. Terminating does not entitle you to a refund, does not cancel a Google Play subscription (cancel that separately), and does not delete data from your device; only you can do that. Sections that by their nature should survive — including The figures are estimates, Reminders are not a deadline service, Intellectual property, Disclaimer of warranties and Limitation of liability — survive termination.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you habitually reside.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the App changes. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be signalled in the App or its release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the App and, if you have a subscription, cancel it through Google Play.
